From ancient time Herbs play a vital role in the healing practices. For medicinal purpose, the parts of the plant including leaves, roots, flowers, seeds, resin, root bark, inner bark, berries and sometimes other portions of the plants might be used. Since herbs do not have a negative effect on body system, so they are consider as one of the safest options to heal stress and anxiety.

  • Ashwagandha –It encourages the body’s ability to maintain homeostasis and resist stress.
  • Kava kava – The herb develops the quality of sociability by increasing alertness and memory power. But the herb should be avoided if you are alcoholic or you are taking other antidepressants.
  • St. John's Wort –As Serotonin or the “happiness hormone” helps in keeping the body calm, this herb makes more serotonin available in the system. This herb works comparatively slowly, so the effects cannot be expected promptly. It is recommended to use a good sunscreen when one starts to use St. John's Wort because it makes the skin very sensitive to the sun.
  • Ginseng – The Siberian Ginseng tones the nervous system and the Panax Ginseng loosen ups the tense muscles. The Indian Ginseng identified as Ashwagandha has berries that help in reducing symptoms of stress, anxiety, emotional trauma, and tiredness.
  • Mulungu – The bark and root of this tree, commonly used in Amazon region helps for stress management by controlling heartbeat and reducing blood pressure.
  • Graviola – The bark and leaves of this tree, another commonly used herb in Amazon region to make one tension free by tranquilization.
  • Bugleweed – A mixture made from boiling water, herb and a dash of lime (optional) to make the hyper nerves relaxed.
  • Fennel – This herb reduces gas, stomach upsets and relaxes the intestines caused by stress and anxiety.
  • Meadowsweet – This herb treats the headaches like migraine, caused from stress and anxiety.
  • Feverfew – Another herb that reduces stress related headaches.
  • Motherwort – The herb lessen palpitations occurred by extreme anxiety and stress.
  • Passion Flower – This herb relaxes tense nerves and cures the sleeplessness.
